The Book of Revelation

Chapter 1

  1. Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave to Him to show His servants that which is necessary to be done in quickness, and He did make it known having sent through His messenger to His servant John,
  2. who did bear witness the Word of God and the witness of Jesus Christ all he saw.
  3. Blessed the one reading and the ones hearing the words of the prophecy and keeping things having been written in it, for the time is near.
  4. John to the seven Churches, the ones in Asia; grace to you and peace from the Is and the Was and the Coming, and from the seven spirits that are before His throne,
  5. and from Jesus Christ the Witness, the Faithful, the Firstborn from death and the Ruler of the kingdoms of the earth  --- To Him Who loves us and has freed us from our sins in His blood
  6. and made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father – to Him the glory and the dominion into the age.  Amen.
  7. LO!  He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, all who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.  YES!  Amen.
  8. I Am the Alpha and the Omega, says Kurios God, the Is and the Was and the Coming, The Almighty.
  9. I John, your brother and co-sharer in the affliction and kingdom and steadfastness in Jesus, came to be in the island called Patmos through the Word of God and the witness of Jesus.
  10. I came to be in spirit in the Lord’s Day, and I heard a great voice as a trumpet behind me
  11. saying, “write what you see in a scroll and send to the seven Churches, into Ephesus and into Smyrna and into Pergamum and into Thyatira and into Sardis and into Philadelphia and into Laodicea”.
  12. And I turned around to see the voice that was speaking with me; and when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
  13. and in midst of the lampstands like a son of man, having been clothed upon to the feet and having been wrapped at the chest with a golden girdle:
  14. His head and hair white as wool, white as snow, and His eyes as flaming fire,
  15. and His feet like burnished brass as in having been fired in a furnace, and His voice as a sound of many waters,
  16. and having seven stars in His right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth, and His face as the sun shines in its power.
  17. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead; and He placed His     right hand on me saying “fear not.  I Am the First and the Last
  18. and the Living, and I became dead and LO, I am living into the ages of the ages, and I have the keys of death and hades.
  19. Therefore write the things you saw and that are and that are about to be with these.
  20. The mystery of the seven stars which you saw on my right, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are messengers of the seven Churches, and the lampstands are the seven Churches.

Chapter 2

  1. Write the message for the Church in Ephesus:  The One Who holds the seven stars in His hand, the One Who moves about in the midst of the seven golden lampstands says these things.
  2. I know your works, and your hardship, and your perseverance   and inability to bear evils, and putting those calling themselves apostles to the test and they aren’t and found them false,
  3. and you have perseverance and did endure through My Name and not wearied.
  4. But I have against you that you did suffer your first love.
  5. Be remembering therefore from whence you fell, and repent and do the first works; but if not, I Am coming to you and I will remove your lampstand out of its place should you not repent.
  6. But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nikolaitans which I too hate.
  7. Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches: to the one overcoming I will give to him to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God.
  8. And write the message for the Church in Smyrna:  The First and The Last Who having been dead and did live says these things.
  9. I know your distress and poverty (but you are rich) and the blasphemy from those who declare themselves to be Jews and are not but a synagogue of Satan.
  10. Fear not the things that you are about to suffer.  Lo!  The traitor is about to cast some from you into prison in order that you might be put to the proof, and you will have affliction ten days.  Remain faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
  11. Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.  The one who overcomes shall not be unjustly treated by the second death.
  12. And write the message for the Church in Pergamum:  The One having the sharp two edged sword says these things.
  13. I know where you dwell, in the place of Satan’s power, and you are laying hold of My Name, and you did not renounce My Faith even in the days of Antipas My witness My faithful, who was killed among you where Satan dwells.
  14. But I have a few things against you, that you have there ones who are holding to the Balaam teaching, who was teaching Balak to lay a scandalous trap before the sons of Israel, to eat sacrifices to idols and to commit fornication.
  15. As mentioned previously, you likewise have ones who are holding to the Nikolaitan teaching.
  16. Repent therefore!  But if not, I Am coming to you quickly, and I will make war with them arrayed with the sword of My mouth.
  17. Let the one having an ear hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.  To the victorious one I will give to him the hidden manna, and I will give to him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name having been written which no one has known except the one who receives it.
  18. And write the message for the Church in Thyatira:   The Son of God Who has eyes as flames of fire, and Whose feet are burnished bronze, says these things.
  19. I know your works and the love and the faithfulness and the service and your perseverance, and the last works greater than the first.
  20. But I have against you that you suffer the woman Jezabel who calls herself a prophetess and teaches and deceives My servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols;
  21. and I gave her time that she might repent, and she is not willing to repent from her fornication.
  22. Lo!  I cast her into bed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation unless they repent from her works,
  23. and I will destroy her children in death, and all the Churches will know that I Am He Who searches reins and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
  24. But to the rest of you in Thyatira, in as much as you have not this teaching, who do not know Satan’s depths (as they say), I lay on you no other charge.
  25. However, hold fast what you have until I come.
  26. And he who overcomes and keeps My works throughout [until the consummation] I will give to him authority over the nations,
  27. and he shall tend them with a scepter of iron, dashing them in pieces as the potters’ vessels as I also have received of My Father.
  28. And I will give to him the morning star.
  29. He who has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.

Chapter 3

  1. And write the message to the Church in Sardis.  The One having the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says these things:  I know your works, that you have a name that you live and you are dead.
  2. Be awake! and strengthen the remains which were ready to die, for I find no works of yours filled up before My God.
  3. Remember therefore how you have received and did hear; and keep; and repent.  If therefore should you not awaken, I shall come as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I shall come upon you.
  4. However you have a few names in Sardis which did not defile their own garments, and they will walk with Me in white that they are worthy.
  5. The one overcoming, this one will clothe himself in white garments, and I will in no way wipe his name out of the book of life; and I will profess his name before My Father and before His messengers.
  6. The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.
  7. And write the message to the Church in Philadelphia.  The Holy, The True, the One having the ‘David key’, “the One opening and no one shall shut, and the One shutting and no one opens”, says these things:
  8. I know your works – lo, I have presented an opened door before you, which no one is enabled to shut – that you have a little strength, and you did keep My Word, and you did not deny My Name.
  9. Lo, I give from out of the synagogue of Satan those declaring themselves to be Jews and are not but deceiving themselves, lo I will appoint them in order that they shall come, and they shall worship before your feet, And they shall know that I did love you.
  10. Because you did keep the word of My patience, I, I also will keep you from the hour of the fiery trial, the hour about to come to pass upon the entire household to put to the proof those dwelling on the earth.
  11. I come quickly!  Hold fast what you have, in order that no one might take your crown.
  12. I will make the one overcoming a pillar in the temple of My God; and he shall then by no means go out.  And I will write on him the Name of My God and the Name of the City of My God, the New Jerusalem, the One that descends out of the heavens from My God, and My Own new name.
  13. The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.
  14. And write the message to the Church in Laodicea.  The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:
  15. I know your works.  You are neither cold nor hot.  I would that you were cold or hot!
  16. So, since you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you out of My mouth.
  17. Because you say ‘I am rich and wealthy and have want for nothing’; and you don’t know that you are the afflicted, and pitiable and lowly and blind and naked,
  18. I counsel you to acquire gold having been refined by fire from Me in order that you might be rich, and white garments in order that you might clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness might not be disclosed, and collyrium to rub in your eyes that you might see.
  19. I, I put to the proof and teach all of those who I love.  Be alive, therefore, and repent!
  20. Lo!  I stand at the door and knock.  Should someone hear My sound and open the door, I will go in to him and I will sup with him and he with Me.
  21. I will give to him who overcomes to sit with Me in My seat as I overcame and did sit with My Father in His seat.
  22. The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.

Chapter 4

  1. After these I looked and, lo, a door having been opened in the heaven and the sound, the first that I heard as a trumpet, speaking to me saying, “Come up here and I will show you what is necessary to take place after these.”
  2. Immediately I did come in spirit and, lo, a throne set in the heaven, and upon the throne One sitting,
  3. and the One sitting like stone, jasper and sardonyx in appearance, and a bow round about the throne like emerald in appearance.
  4. And round about the throne twenty-four thrones, and upon the thrones twenty-four elders having been clothed in white garments, and upon their heads gold crowns.
  5. And from the throne coming forth lighnings and sounds and thunderings, and seven fiery lamps ablaze before the throne that are the seven spirits of God,
  6. and before the throne as glassy sea like crystal, and in midst of the throne and round about the throne four creatures being entirely of eyes front and back,
  7. and the first creature like unto a lion, and the second creature like unto a calf, and the third creature having the face as of man, and the fourth creature like unto a flying eagle,
  8. and the four creatures one by one of them having six wings each, being entirely of eyes around and within, and they have no pause saying “Holy holy holy Kurios The God The Almighty, the Was and the Is and the Coming.”
  9. And whenever the creatures will present glory and honor and thanksgiving to the One sitting on the throne, to the One living into the ages of the ages,
  10. The twenty-four elders will prostrate themselves before the One sitting on the throne, and they will adore the One living into the ages of the ages, and they will cast their crowns before the throne, saying
  11.  “Worthy are You, the Lord and our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; for You, You did create all, and by Your will they are, and they were created.”

Chapter 5

  1. And I did see a scroll on the right of the One sitting on the throne
  2. having been written front and back having been sealed with seven seals.
  3. And I did see a mighty messenger announcing in a great sound, “Who worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?”
  4. And no one in the heaven or upon the earth or under the earth was enabled to open the scroll or to see it.
  5. And I was weeping greatly because no one worthy had been found to open the scroll or to see it.
  6. And one of the elders says to me, “Don’t be weeping!  Lo!  The Lion from the Judah tribe, the David Root, did overcome to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
  7. And in midst of the throne and of the four creatures and in midst of the elders I did see a lamb standing as slain, having seven horns and seven eyes which are the Spirits of God sending forth into all the earth.
  8. And He did come and He takes from the right of the One sitting upon the throne.
  9. And when He did take the scroll, the four creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each having a lyre and golden bowls filling with incense which are the prayers of the holy ones,
  10. and singing new songs, saying, “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, for You were slain, and You did buy for God in Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
  11. and You did make them a kingdom, and priests for our God, and they will reign upon the earth.
  12. and I did see and hear a sound of many angels and the creatures and the elders around the throne, and was the number of them myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands
  13. saying in a great sound, “Worthy is the Lamb, the One slain, to receive the power and abundance and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise.
  14. And every creature which is in the heaven, upon the earth and under the earth, and upon the sea, and all things in them I heard saying, “The praise and the honor and the glory and the might into the ages of the ages to the One sitting upon the throne and to the Lamb.”
  15. And the four creatures kept on saying “Amen!”  And the elders fell down and paid homage.

Chapter 6

  1. And I watched when the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals; and I heard one of the four creatures speaking as thunderous sound: “COME”!
  2. And, LO!  A white horse.  And the One sitting upon it holding a bow, a crown having been given to Him.  And He did come out overcoming and that He may overcome.
  3. And when He did open the second seal, I heard the second creature speaking: “COME”!
  4. And another did come out, a red horse; and to the one sitting upon it having been given to take the peace from the earth, so that one might slaughter the other, a great sword having been given to Him.
  5. And when He did open the third seal, I heard the third creature speaking: “COME”!  And, LO!  A black horse, and the one sitting upon it holding a scale in His hand.
  6. And I heard as it were a sound in midst of the four creatures, saying “a chaenix of corn for a denarious, and three chaenixes of barley for a denarious; and do not unjustly injure the olive tree and the vine”.
  7. And when He opened the fourth seal I heard a sound from the fourth creature speaking: “COME”!
  8. And, LO!  A pale horse.  And the one sitting upon it named “the death”, and “the hades” was following Him closely; and authority was given them over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword, with famine, with plague, and by the beasts of the earth.
  9. And when He did open the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the lives of those who had been slaughtered because of the Word of God and because of the testimony that they were holding.
  10. And in a great sound they did cry out, saying “until when, holy and worthy Master, are You not judging and avenging our blood upon those dwelling on the earth?”
  11. And a white priestly garment was given to each one, and it was spoken to them that they should rest themselves yet a little time until also their fellow-servants and brothers who are about to be killed, even as they, should be fulfilled.
  12. And when He did open the sixth seal a great shaking did occur, and the sun became as black as sackcloth hair, and the entire moon became as blood,
  13. and the stars of heaven did fall into the earth as a fig tree casts her winter figs upon being shaken by a great wind,
  14. and the heaven was swept aside as a scroll being rolled up, and all the mountains and islands were moved out of their places.
  15. And the kings of the earth and the great men and the princes and the chiliarchs and the wealthy and the powerful and every slave and free did conceal themselves into the caverns and into the clefts of the mountains
  16. and saying to the mountains and the rocks, “fall upon us and conceal us from the Presence of the One sitting upon the throne and the wrath of the Lamb”,
  17. because the great day of their wrath has come; and who is able to stand?

Chapter 7

  1. After this I saw four messengers having stood upon the four corners of the earth restraining the four winds of the earth in order that the wind might not blow upon the earth or upon the sea or upon any tree.
  2. And I saw another messenger going up from dayspring having the  Living God’s seal.  And he did cry out in a great voice to the four messengers to whom it was given to injure the earth and the sea, saying
  3. ‘you may not injure the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.
  4. And I did hear the number of the ones who have been sealed, one hundred and forty four thousand have been sealed from all the tribes of the sons of Israel:
  5. from the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,
  6. from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,
  7. from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,
  8. from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.
  9. After this I looked and, Lo!  a great crowd which no one was able to number out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, having stood before the throne and before the Lamb, having been arrayed in white garments and palms in their hands,
  10. and crying out with a great voice, saying ‘The Salvation to our God, To Him Who sits on the throne and the Lamb!’
  11. And all the messengers had remained steadfast round the throne, and the elders and four living creatures fell on their faces before the throne, and they did worship God,
  12. saying ‘The praise and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the might to our God to the ages of ages.  Amen.’
  13. And one of the elders uttered, saying to me ‘Who are these who have been arrayed in white garments?  And whence did they come?’
  14. And I addressed him: ‘My lord, you have known!’  And he said to me, ‘These are the ones who are coming out of the great tribulation.  And they did wash their garments and make them white in the blood of the Lamb.’
  15. Because of this are they before the throne of God.  And ‘they do service to Him day and night in His sanctuary’ And ‘the One Who sits on the throne shall tabernacle over them.’
  16. ‘They shall no more hunger, nor shall they thirst any more, nor shall the sun fall down upon them, nor any burning heat.’
  17. ‘For that Lamb in midst of the throne shall feed them, and He shall lead them upon springs of living water, and God shall wipe away every tear out of their eyes.’

Chapter 8

  1. And when He loosed the seventh seal, silence was in the heaven for half an hour.
  2. Then I did see seven messengers which had stood before God; and seven trumpets were given to them.
  3. Then another messenger did come, and he was poised before the altar having the golden censer.  And much incense was given to him in order that he would present the prayers of all the holy ones before the golden altar in front of the throne.
  4. And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the holy ones arose before God out of the hand of the messenger.
  5. Then the messenger took the censer and filled it from the fire of the altar of whole burnt offering and poured into the land.  And there were thunders and sounds and lightnings and shaking.
  6. And the seven messengers having the seven trumpets prepared themselves that they might trumpet.
  7. And the first trumpeted.  And hail was, and fire having been mixed in blood and poured into the earth, and the third of the land burned up, and the third of the trees burned up, and all tender herbage burned up.
  8. Then the second messenger trumpeted.  As it were a great mountain was cast burning into the sea, and the third of the sea was blood,
  9. and the third of the creatures having life in the sea died, and the third of the vessels were utterly destroyed.
  10. Then the third messenger trumpeted.  And a great star fell out of the heaven as a torch being burned and fell on the third of the rivers and on the fountains of water,
  11. and the name of the star is called ‘the wormwood’, and the third of the waters was made into wormwood, and many men did die from the waters for they had been rendered bitter.
  12. Then the fourth messenger trumpeted.  And the third of the sun was stricken, and the third of the moon, and the third of the stars so that the third of them would be darkened; and the third of the day would not be brought to light, nor the night.
  13. Then I saw and heard one eagle winging its way in mid-heaven exclaiming in a powerful voice, ‘ouai’, ‘ouai’, ‘ouai those living on the land, from the remaining soundings of the trumpets from the three messengers about to trumpet!’
